Celebrating two years of excellence in VAR and GLT services!

This May marked a milestone as we proudly completed our second year of providing top quality VAR and GLT services to DFL.
We want to take a moment to reflect and celebrate our collection.

What started as a new project has become a seamless part of our business, thanks to teamwork and the involvement of our colleagues at Sportech Solutions. Our commitment to great teamwork achieved great customer satisfaction in daily match operations, while adding alongside to our DFL and FPF services, we successfully launched our VAR services in the MLS, managing multiple major projects concurrently.

After the summer break, we are excited to announce the introduction of GLT to the DFL 2nd league. This groundbreaking initiative makes it the first second league in the world to utilize this technology what means a consequence of meeting and even surpassing customers expectations.

While we approach the middle of summer, we are excited about upcoming events such as Euro 2024. The anticipation for this tournament is rising, and we look forward to experiencing a hot summer full of emotions and excitement as Europe’s best players prepare to compete.

As we look forward to the rest of the year, we remain committed to innovation and excellence in all our services. We thank our dedicated team, partners, and customers for their support over the past two years. Here’s to many more milestones and achievements ahead. The tension is rising - Bundesliga 2023 relegation matches

What an exciting week lies behind us again! The Bundesliga matches have kept us enthralled with suspense and drama right up to the last minute. It has been an incredible rollercoaster ride of emotions that has given us thrilling matches and surprising twists and turns.

This Bundesliga season has shown us once again that football is unpredictable and anything can happen. This also presents us with the challenge of reacting flexibly and quickly to every new situation.

Once the final whistle has blown, the opponents for the relegation matches will have been decided and so will the venues. As a result, the Sportec Solutions team will be on the road under great time pressure, planning and organising the installation of our vieww systems for the promoted teams in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga next season.

In order to leave nothing to chance, we are not only using the VAR system for all relegation matches, but also the GLT system, which has so far only been used in the 1st Bundesliga. The decisive prerequisites for its use are the installation and the ‘final installation test’ before the matches are played. Our teams can therefore hardly wait for the outcome of the last matches of the season to find out whether they will be travelling to Hamburg or Heidenheim, Bielefeld or Nuremberg and where the promotion match of the third division team in Osnabrück, Wiesbaden, Saarbrücken or Dresden will be played.

No matter how and where: The excitement is rising – for everyone involved!!!

We are looking forward to the upcoming Bundesliga season, in which we can welcome both the established teams and the promoted teams. It is sure to be an exciting season full of passion, emotion and thrilling duels.

Let’s savour the moment and look forward to the coming season as we head into the summer break!

FIFA Certification 2023 – Lets do this! Big thanks to Richard Zmuda, Dennis Zeipert and David Castle for the strong effort in the previous week, as our Vieww Team showcased our technology and solutions at the FIFA-certification event at Bieberer Berg near Frankfurt. ​

As Football is the world’s most popular sport, with billions of fans and followers globally, the increasing popularity of the sport, the pressure to make accurate and fair decisions on the pitch has become more significant.

Therefore FIFA has invited us as part of the quality partnership to show and test our system in order to ensure the quality of our technologies and products. The purpose is clearly to continue with and guarantee the highest standards of reliability, accuracy and consistency for the world of football.

In recent years, the use of technology in football has been widely debated, with proponents and opponents of its implementation. Nevertheless, FIFA, the international governing body of football, has taken significant steps to ensure that technology is used to improve the accuracy of decisions on the pitch.

To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the GLT and VAR, FIFA has established a rigorous certification process. The process involves testing the technology against specific performance criteria to ensure that it meets the required standards. The certification process also involves testing the technology in various weather conditions and lighting situations to ensure that it can function correctly under any circumstance. Additionally, the system’s data is regularly analyzed to ensure that it is working correctly and that no errors are occurring.

In conclusion, the use of technology in football has significantly improved the accuracy of decisions on the pitch. The Goal Line Technology and Video Assistant Referee systems have been critical in ensuring that football matches are fair and just. MLS announced an agreement with sports technology leaders Sportec Solutions and Deltatre to create next generation enhanced data feeds from all MLS matches to power Apple’s MLS Season Pass, and fuel League growth on and off the field.

MLS announced an agreement with sports technology leaders Sportec Solutions and Deltatre to create next generation enhanced data feeds from all MLS matches to power Apple’s MLS Season Pass, and fuel League growth on and off the field.

Sportec Solutions will provide and integrate advanced gathering, storage, analysis, distribution and analytics of live event and tracking match data which will be used by MLS and its clubs, creating an unprecedented dataset from every MLS, Leagues Cup and MLS NEXTPRO match. This cutting-edge data will provide fans watching on MLS Season Pass, the new global streaming service available on the Apple TV app that launched earlier this month, with more engaging information for fans than ever before.

The initiative builds on the global data distribution partnership which MLS launched with IMG Arena last year and will create a new system to capture and analyze data from MLS fields of play. The 2023 MLS season will have more data and statistics available than ever before. To generate this new data MLS will utilize 12 of Tracab’s next generation 4K cameras to capture real-time skeletal tracking data from every stadium. This information will be analyzed in the cloud and then provided to fans via MLS Broadcasts and to MLS coaches who will have an unmatched level of video and data to enhance their players and club’s capabilities on the field. IMG Arena will distribute this data to media, technology and sports betting companies around the globe.

The Sportec Solutions and Deltatre partnership will enable MLS to provide new stats and visualizations like attacking zones, Expected Goals, player speed, match momentum, entries into the attacking third, passing efficiency, and shot efficiency over the course of the season. Additional new stats will be continually developed throughout the season and presented to fans viewing matches on Apple’s MLS Season Pass. Deltatre, the sports technology company will be responsible for bringing Sportec Solutions’ next-gen metrics to screen through advanced graphics and data visualizations.

This new data system furthers MLS’ position as the most innovative league in soccer. With a shared vision of producing cutting-edge technology solutions mixed with innovative applications, the MLS – Sportec Solutions partnership forges a deeper connection with fans by providing unprecedented data capabilities. From comprehensive analysis of players and teams to coaches and technical staff, the ability to integrate state-of-the-art data visualization technology, optical player tracking, and enhanced metrics into matches on streams and broadcasts is part of the enhanced viewing experience for fans.

The multi-year agreement with Sportec Solutions is the latest initiative of MLS Emerging Ventures, which builds strategic partnerships and enables new capabilities with the goal of continuing to grow the League’s fanbase and engage fans in new ways.

Deltatre and Sportec Solutions announced that its recently acquired officiating technology supplier, Vieww, is now a licensed FIFA provider for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology

Deltatre and Sportec Solutions announced that its recently acquired officiating technology supplier, Vieww, is now a licensed FIFA provider for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, adding to its existing certification as a FIFA-licensed Goal Line Technology (GLT) provider for global football leagues. The VAR certification has been in place since the start of the 2022/23 German Bundesliga season.

 

Vieww is only the second provider to offer both Goal Line Technology and Video Assistant Referee Technology certified by FIFA and offers a scalable solution to suit leagues and sports of any size and type.

 

For the start of the current 22/23 season, in association with DFB Schiri GmbH, the subsidiary of the DFB that is responsible for the German leagues’ refereeing and officiating, Sportec Solutions successfully deployed VAR Technology for the Bundesliga, the German Supercup, Bundesliga 2 and DFB Pokal, as well as Goal Line Technology for the Bundesliga, the German Supercup and selected matches in the DFB Pokal. The service deployed uses 14 intelligent cameras tracking at 200 frames per second in real-time, in addition to a fleet of 12 vans and a newly created remote operations center to deliver a best-in-class service. As part of both companies’ sustainability efforts, we are using several all-electric vans within the fleet to proactively reduce our environmental impact.

 

Alongside the full solution rolled out for the Bundesliga, Vieww’s VAR system is also scalable to suit smaller leagues with an all-in-one, compact VAR solution. This comprises a single lightweight box which allows for the use of up to 8 synchronized camera feeds and the implementation of a Virtual Offside Line. Currently deployed by Liga 3, the third tier of Portuguese men’s professional football, the quick and easy set-up allows VAR operations at stadiums with reduced infrastructure and offers a cost-effective solution for smaller leagues with no compromise on quality or accuracy.
