About
Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Technology is changing the world of professional football. However, it is often not accessible to many leagues and clubs due to the high cost of hardware for processing and saving match footage. In order to solve this problem, vieww has created a new cloud-based VAR system that was designed from the ground up to run efficiently in the cloud. The Cloud VAR System is low latency, high quality. It fulfills the same FIFA standards as a conventional on-prem VAR system, meaning that the end-user won’t notice any difference in system performance, quality, or usability. All this with a significant decrease in on-site hardware, reducing the requirements for initial investment. The VAR system only incurs costs when the system is used, meaning that it can meet the demands of even the most flexible and chaotic match schedule.
FEATURES
VAR
The VAR Cloud system has all the features of a traditional VAR system: high quality footage, infinite number of camera feeds, low latency footage, responsive controls, and more.

Livestream
Easily stream match footage to any number of external users. For example, as live streams to match analysts and coaches, allowing them to make real-time decisions. Or send the feed to data gatherers, in order to support real-time data gathering. As soon as the feeds are in the cloud VAR system, they can be sent anywhere with an internet connection.
How it works?
Encoders
In order to get the feeds into the VAR cloud system, vieww offers a price-competitive encoder. This encoder supports SDI, ST2110, and NDI. It then encodes the footage into compressed video and sends it to the cloud. The VAR Cloud system also supports external feeds. This means that if anyone else is already encoding the stream, it can be used by the VAR Coud system.
Cloud-based video processing and storage
The “brains” of the system run on AWS servers and all footage is process and stored in the cloud, ensuring high levels of redundancy and performance.
Light-Weight Client
In order to interact with the footage, the VAR cloud system has a light-weight front-end client called Zenith. Zenith can run on Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, or Android. This means that the hardware the VAR uses is entirely flexible, allowing for use in any type of scenario: centralized, in-stadium, pitch-side, etc.
